So, new place in Central Florida.  A season pass to Disney World.  A first-born daughter (who's been around a while).  Things have been weird, to say the least.  Maybe there will be more art soon.  Here's hoping.

Those Bronies don't just party.  They PAR-TAY!  What a great time.  Loved the Panels, great to hear from the writers and the voices.  The scholarly panel featuring academics studying the dynamics of the Brony herd was fascinating and quite inspirational for this PhD.  In my humble opinion, those folks who cosplayed as Mr and Mrs Cake really should have taken more than honorable mention in the costume contest.  Very cool to see some artists and their work.  The Museum of Pony Art was particularly spectacular.  The farewells were a lot of fun.  John de Lancie offered some very kind final words.  Like the Browncoats,  Bronies are a force for Good, and I love that about them.  A special thank you out to the organizers and to Haybuck and Cupcakes who were quick with their responses as I attempted to snag my last minute badge.

PS I can also report that I am a survivor of the great BronyCon fire of 2012.  I like to think that only bronies would exit calmly and quickly in such a situation to continue the party outside the convention center.  Heck, if a light fixture had burst into flames at San Diego, we might be counting corpses.  Instead we just blamed Derpy and kept the party going.  Heck Yeah!

I think I've managed to finagle a late ticket to BronyCon at the Meadowlands!  Still not sure if I'll be able to get another or if my wife and I will have to trade off going onto the convention floor.  Either way I hope to see some fine bronies there.  If you see me wondering about in my Wonderbolts sweatshirt, , say hello and grab a business card!

So, it's over.  I am no longer a graduate student and have my terminal degree.  Now to get teaching and writing.  But maybe I'll get in some surfing first.  If anyone needs a medievalist let me know.  Or if you need a customized My Little Pony figure sculpted by someone possessing a PhD, I can help you out.

Wow, went to my first Brony meet-up in Seattle Today.  First time I've ever met other bronies (unless you count my wife but she's been a pony fan since way back).   It was a wonderful time: filled a comic shop to bursting, headed over to a local park: swings, pony chalk drawings, folks on the guitar playing "giggle at the ghostly," ohthatchristina ohthatchristina.deviantart.com… and Dea Star bluepaws21.deviantart.com/gall… were there along with some other wonderful artists.  Many thanks to Miz for bringing it all together. Gotta love this fandom.
